Valerie is seen as a very upbeat and courageous person. She has this idea that, "Everyone deserves to be happy," and she will say that to herself every so often and to other students that seem to be down in the dumps. She is willing to help out any student that comes to her for advice or help, it's just the way she is. Valerie could never say no to a cry for help, even if it was from someone she disliked.

Valerie is quite the study bug and can be quite drowned in her work most of the time. But she will try to finish her work in a quick and efficient way in order to have some fun time. Though she can go a bit over board with her work, sometimes she'd stay up till late at night and up until the early morning, finishing up something she just had to make perfect. But her hard work isn't only aimed towards her studies, it's also aimed at everyone she meets. She will constantly work hard to get on someone's good side, because she is a people person. Either it be studying together, trying to find out what they like, or just plain talking to them, she will want to make you her friend.

By the time she gets close enough to someone, she will start caring about them more and focusing on their needs just a bit more than usual. She will try her best to protect them from harms way and will make sure that if they ever got hurt, she'd take care of them. Though, some people tend to take advantage of this kind personality of her's, and if you happen to push her over the edge, she will snap at you. But, in order to be a good influence, she will try her best to think about the situation. Though, even if she didn't snap at you right then and there, she will never forget what you did to make her go off the edge.


• [B] a c k g r o u n d: 

Valerie grew up in a family with a loving mother, father, and three younger siblings that adored her. They were quite the family, or as Valerie liked to call them "Mighty Fam," when she was a little girl. Valerie loved her brothers and sister, she took care of them while her mother and father went off to work. Though, most of the time it got stressful on her, and eventually she caused a black out in the house due to over working herself at the age of eight. She knew that she was indeed a wizard ever since she was a little kid, but her little siblings knew very little about magic and freaked out in the dark. Plus, Valerie had a major fear of the dark, and the fact that her magic kept spontaneously going off due to build up of stress, it didn't help. She kept seeing scary images in the darkness of their house because she couldn't focus straight. Soon enough, her parents came home and fixed up everything. Valerie hasn't slept in the dark ever since, and neither have her siblings.

After that incident, Valerie started to make sure her magic was in check. She practiced all the time with her mom in order to perfect her skills, hoping that events like that wouldn't happen again. She started studying up on magic, how potions were made, and what kinds of spells there were. Her parents never allowed her to use magic unless she was supervised, and she made sure to do that. A few years later, she received her letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents were extremely excited about it, for they had gone to Hogwarts as well. They started getting her things ready for her, she even got her mom's old robe and her dad's old books, in good condition as well!

Her first year at Hogwarts went quite swimmingly. She did fine in all of her classes, had friends, and talked to a lot of students. It was all the same year after year up until her fifth year. She got a crush on a handsome Slytherin boy that was in one of her classes. She befriended the boy and the two eventually grew close with one another. No, they never dated, because he ended up transferring out of Hogwarts, and she hadn't heard from him since. It weighed her down a bit, but she eventually got over it, or at least she tells people that. So when it comes to love and relationships now-a-days, she usually avoids the topic and tries to change to subject to something else.

She started working even harder in her classes and before she knew it, her sixth year at Hogwarts was coming to an end. Where did the time go? She was a bit disappointed at the fact that she had been socializing less, and she wanted to try giving this whole school thing another shot, this time with more friends and more... fun. In her seventh year, she was chosen as Head Girl. Yes, she was shocked indeed, and boy was she excited. But at the same time she panicked. Would her fun filled seventh year be boring like her sixth? Well, she hoped not.
